Here are some frequently asked questions, if you do not see your question here, please contact me and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

What happens if I am late my session or need to cancel?

Please arrive on time for your scheduled appointment to allow for maximum session time! If you arrive more than 20 minutes late, it may require rescheduling the session. If the session is rescheduled, you will be charged half of the session fee payable for the missed session. If the session is not rescheduled, please note that the session will end at its prescheduled time and the full session fee will be required.

Please call or email me if you are unable to attend a scheduled counselling session. I ask that you please contact me at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment. Clients who cancel a counselling session with less than 24 hours' notice will be responsible for the full session fee.

What about cancellation?

Why did you become a therapist?

Following personal trauma, I found the services I needed were lacking in the GTA. This pushed me to leave the world of business and pursue a Masters in Social Work, I wanted to create services where they were lacking. I wanted to support others in the way that I needed to be supported.

Are session fees covered by OHIP or Insurance Benefits?

Many insurance companies offer coverage for professional services offered by Registered Social Workers (RSW), Members of Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). So, while fees are not covered by OHIP, many insurance plans may offer coverage for the counselling work we do together.

What if I find myself waiting for you?

I make every effort to keep to schedule out of respect for you and your valuable time. Please know, however, that occasionally another's session may run overtime due to unforeseen circumstances. My first priority for each of my clients is safety. I will always take extra time to ensure a client is calm, composed, grounded and safe before leaving the counselling office. Please understand that if this should occur in a session prior to yours, it may delay the start of your session. Your understanding and patience is appreciated; perhaps one day you may need that extra time and it will be given to you.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept etransfers given virtual services. Payment is kindly requested in full at time of service.

What about my privacy?

Having lived in large cities and small cities, I'm extremely aware of one's confidentiality, both within the office and in the community. Rest assured that maintaining your confidentiality is a priority.

What are your credentials?

Yes! I was once fully bilingual in French but very “rusty” due to lack of exposure at this time.
